Typical sparge time was created by Canuck
Hiya!!
Did my first brew over the weekend on my Robobrew v3
The recipe was an IPA from a LHB , told Them I wanted a simple recipe to start
6kg 2 row
500g Cara foam
500g Wheat
and some rice hulls
not sure of the crush size
28g of hops were added at start of the 60 min boil and at 8 min left
I mashed in with 21 litre at 148 F, not sure if i calculated the mash in volume correctly, calculated the sparge to be around 14L ( to end up with a 20L batch)
the mashing seemed to go okay, but when it came time to sparge, it was about 1 hour and a bit to get 12L thru to end up with approx 21L to boil, was really draining slowly
not sure if the sparge time is okay, or did I messed something up along the way, smelt great as she was boiling once i got to that step
was looking for some guidance with the mash in volume for the robobrew, and sparging to get a bit better
Btw , Gash, your youtube videos have helped a lot
Thanks
glenn

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
