I wanted to make sure I got 19L out (5 Gallon) so I upped the size of my batch to 20L (19 and 1/4 Gallon-ish). I used 30L all up (close to 8 Gallon (7.92)) I'd used 3.92kg (8.64 pound) of grain, Preboil was about 26L (6.86 Gallon). I got about 20.5L (5.4 Gallon out). Hit my OG perfect.

OG 1.046 probably about 4.7% after ferment

So I could probably do a preboil 25L (6.6 Gallon) and still get 19L (5 Gallon out)

Our boil offs may be different etc. but overall the brew day went smoothly, got a bit off stuck sparge for some reason but sorted that out.
Cheers!

Reminder not to rely on the graduations in the kettle and get a jug/bucket whatever and weigh out your water once so you know your measurements are correct makes thing easier when trying to hit amounts etc. You only have to do it once. Cheers!

Yes ,Its an ongoing theme lately and very good advice across the board whether its apparent litres , temps or whatever. It really pays to double check measurments and thermostats ,thermometers and hydrometers.
Ive been caught out a couple of times lately. Good sound advise and worth paying attention to. Cheers

Hi all,
I have just joined the site and am very new to the home brew scene. Have done a few extract brews with some great results and some not so great results. I am very keen on the robobrew system and have watched many YouTube vids on the subject and it looks like a great piece of kit. My question to any robobrew owners is would you recommend the system or not? I'm interested in the views of people who have experience with this equipment. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. Thanks.

I think its a very easy system to use and is great for a beginner, a bloke in WA just won best beer in show at a competition and took away about 6 other medals, it brews as good as any other system. If you have the money, a couple of thousand to by a braumeister than it may be a better choice due to the quality of build, but you cant go past the robobrew for price, Cheers mate and welcome!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
