Hi Gash and dwellers,
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues batch priming for a 9L keg and remainder to bottles? Am doing a partial grain steep and extract brew of about 12-13L brew.

Will keg need to be burped? Any other issues?

Thanks gang.

Shaun.

G'day mate the problem here is that kegs are usually primed to half the rate that bottles are. So I'd add some sugars to the keg fill that then you could add sugars to what was left in your fermenter/bottling bucket to fill the bottles. Cheers!

Why are they primed to half? Seems a big difference.

Firstly and over carbed keg is a nightmare, secondly things just work a little different in a keg compared to bottling, half is a rough estimate, there are calculators available, but either way, its less than what you;d use compared to bottling. Rough guess its around 60-80g for a keg. depending on beer style.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
