Low Fermentation Temperature Yeast Strains? was created by Dullahan Brewing
Ok i am a beginner and i know naff all about the different strains of yeast except that lager yeast usually ferments at a much lower temp that others. I want to know if there is a yeast strain out there that will ferment at a constant 8-12 celsius ? Does not matter if it is an ale yeast or a lager yeast or whatever. It has to be capable of fermenting out at a constant 8-12 celsius with no outside heating method.

I think one of the saflager yeast strains from fermentis will kick off around 12-14 which is not bad but i am looking for even lower if possible. This is kinda hypothetical question as i doubt such a yeast exists?

Wyeast 2252-PC Rasenmäher Lager Yeast or some or the Wyeast/Fermentis lager yeast strains are capable of temps as low as 46F (8C)

Thanks muninsing that looks exactly what i need, would negate the need for external heating of fv? Just take a lot longer for the wort to ferment i assume?

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
