Coopers Family Secrets Amber Ale was created by Aussie Game
Hi everyone!!
First time posting here and thought I would start off with an extract recipe I'm going to have a play around with. May be similar to James Squires Amber Ale.
Ingredients:
1 coopers family secrets amber ale can
1.5 kg Briess light dry malt
200 g Gladfield toffee malt grain
200 g Gladfield biscuit malt grain
10 g galaxy @ 30 min for bitterness
20 g Willamette @ 20 min
10 g Amarillo @ 20 min
20 g Willamette @ 5 min
10 g Amarillo @ 5 min
20 g Willamette dry hop
Procedure:
Steep the toffee and biscuit malts in 2 litres of water @ 70°c for 30 minutes. While the grains are steeping, in another pot bring (7-10 litres) bring 3 litres of water to the boil then add 1.5kg LDME and boil for further 5 minutes. Strain the steeped grain mixture into the boil pot then begin hop additions as per recipe.

I am still learning and having fun playing around with hops and specialty grains with my extract brewing so any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated. Cheer and thanks for reading!!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
