Apologies to drag up an ancient post - however I do have a quick question on this - would it be better to add the light dry malt to the boil in this case? I seem to see it done both ways in different recipes. Things going well - will be smashing this out on the weekend :woohoo:

No just follow the recipe, the more the concentration of malt in the boil the less hop extraction you will get, if you are worried about sanitation you could boil it in another pot, but malt straight from the packet doesn't really need it. Cheers mate! Hope it turns out great!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
