I've never used this can, but from a little reading it sounds like a fairly strong flavoured beer, I'm not sure I'd mess with it too much. I wouldn't be putting Roasted Barley in, maybe 150-200g of Dark Crystal steep, and when you boil that maybe some EKG in at flameout for a 10 min steep, maybe only 20-30g. Are you doing the small version or the big version?

That is so funny because that is basically what one of the guys here on my home brew club forum told me to do even down to using the EKG

Doing the full 23 litres so not doing the high abv version maybe 4kg pale malt instead, will be adding and yes it is a very malty kit.

Yeah some times I find over doing the kit beers can be a bit much, Keep it simple. Unless you are starting with a lager or something and turning it into an IPA. :)

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
