G'day all. Ben here (as you can see from the very boring username) from Adelaide. Stumbled across Gashs YT page recently and somehow wound up here. Looks like another great source of knowledge and info.

Been brewing for about 15 years since I was 18, started and stopped a few times back in the day, now 3v AG brewing and absolutely loving it. Looking to upgrade to a 65L BZ soon just to get double batches and maximize output/time input.

I'm on a few forums and we do BBs regularly, just completed a 60kg hop buy which was fun breaking into 1kg bags but saved everyone a fortune, not sure if that sort of thing is promoted or frowned upon here but I guess I'll see as I dive further into the forums and read up on the goings on.

Lots of good recipes here which I look forward to replicate.

Cheers and beers
Ben

Gday Ben! We havent done a BB here yet, its kind of world wide so might be a bit hard. Though dont let that stop you letting us know about anything happening, I like bulk buys but havent been back to AHB since the bad old days, shit must be 12 years ago or more, what a shit fight that was hahaha Hopefully its improved by now, I'm sure it has.
The forum here can seem quiet, not many comments but funnily it gets a shitload of hits, so people are watching which is good if you're trying to promote anything.
Cheers mate!

Ah yes, a worldwide BB would be difficult haha.

I've been on AHB since 2004 which amazes me. I've seen so much shit thrown over there (and is still being thrown a la KK/KL but it's a good source of recipes and knowledge in the old posts. I moved on to an Adelaide based forum and ACB and now I am here. Will be checking all 3 regularly although the Adelaide based one has gone quite dormant of late. Such is life.

Brewing tomorrow. No idea what, 50kg of grain and 9kg of hops tells me I should be able to conjure something up... brain just not working yet haha.

Cheers
Ben

Yeah AHB went through an incredibly ugly period where lots left including me, it was like the moderators were trolls, decent people were getting banned and shit slinging was all that was allowed, thats simplifying it a lot but it was insane. I dont exactly remember how long ago, I know it was a very long time ago, 12 years was a guess, it was the early days of the internet, anyway life goes on! You sound like me brewing on the fly hahaha

Hi all, Merry Christmas to you all.
I'll start with, hi I'm Ron and I'm a brewer.
I have been brewing on and off, more on then off, for 32 years, and I still have a lot to learn.
A bit about me, I'm a fitter/turner, I make and shoot traditional bows and make knives and beer.
Thank you for allowing me to join.
