English Bitter + was created by Madiman
Hi Everyone.  Just made an English Bitter - using Grain and Coopers Can.
INGREDIENTS.
Coopers English bitter Can - plus Amber Malt Can.
Plus -  250g Med Crystal.  plus 250g Carapils, plus 250 Supernova.
250g Flaked wheat and 200g Oats
Mashed grains for 30 min, at 68degC.  Boil 30 min -
added cans into fermenter with wort.
OG 1.047. Yeast  US 04 . Fermenting at 16 Deg C.
QUESTION -  although not normally done - would the flavour benefit from dry hopping with say EKG.  .and how ?
Your comments please.

Hello there Madiman, Im no expert on dry hopping, but from time to time I may do it. One thing I find is the dry hop addition gives a raw hop taste if not given a couple of weeks to settle down. I did find this article which you might find of interest. However it does make the point that adding dry hops doesn't affect the bitterness, but I've heard that a small amount of bitterness can happen.
Give it a go and see what you think. Cheers mate.

No worries, you've posted it in Social Chatter, second one down at the moment. And that's a good place to post to throw questions out there. Your other post ,Recipe Please is above it. Cheers Tim. Also English bitters are sometimes dry hopped with EKG into the cask. If your keen I would go with 30 grams on day 3, but as I said I'm no expert but that's what i would be keen to do. Good luck.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
