Coopers Cerveza Extract tips was created by Newbrewer
G'day brewers.

Just kegged my first brew and patiently waited for carbonation. Tried it out and it tastes a little "light" or watery. TBH I don't drink Corona, brewed it keep the missus happy, but she also commented it was a bit light. Still drinkable though. I followed the coopers recipe here: www.cellardweller.net/index.php/en/extra...a-pre-hopped-extract

Any tips to make it a little stronger?

Cheers in advance!

Hello, Give it a week in the keg and see if it starts to develop a bit of body. Probably will. 2 weeks even if you can lol. Its done now so give it a little time to condition. Cheers

Thanks mate. Much appreciated. Yeah, i'm not sure it'll last 2 weeks! hahahaha. Once i get a couple of fermenters on the go and more kegs, it will be easier, though i'll keep it in mind.

How long can a brew last in the keg?

I think it probably depends on the brew. ABV, hops etc. I spend a bit of time helping out at a local microbrewery . They made a beer must have been 6 or 7 months ago at least. A very dark and malty lager with hints of bacon in the flavour at 6.2% abv. I had a jar of it yesterday day and compared to when it was first kegged it has really changed. Its really conditioned nicely and rounded out so to speak. An outstanding drop.
I dont know if a NEIPA would age as well, but it would still be good to drink.
Next time you brew a kit you could try only making it up to 21 litres and or using dry or liquid malt extract instead of the brew enhancer. And dont forget to keep a log book on all your brews. Good stuff cheers mate.

G'day, this sort of beer is going to be watery, you could try a mini mash with some grain, but if you add too much you're moving away from the style, which it actually sounds like you probably want to do. A high carbonation will help give it a bit of bite but that might be hard depending on your kegging set up. Cheers!

G'day Gash. This will be a regular beer that i'll keep in the kegerator, but i'll be brewing others for myself, IPAs etc. My next brew after my Australian Pale Ale finishes fermenting will be to tackle the "mini-mash NEIPA" you did a while back.

Carbonation over the last few days have improved it a bit. That could've been it. I'm about to do it again and i'll give the 21 litres a crack and see how it goes, plus try out DME instead of brew enhancer.

Cheers Gash and Finnroo

I nearly suggested DME but BE2 is 50% dextrose, 25% maltodextrin, 25% light dry malt (500g/250g/250g)

So its actually got more unfermentables (maltodex) than if you use all DME, it would not hurt to use both BE2 and 500g DME

or if you are trying to keep the booze down maybe Coopers Brew Enhancer 3
50% Light Dry Malt, 30% Dextrose, 20% Maltodextrin (500g/300g/200g)

Cheers!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
