missed this post, my notifications arent working grrrr.. and Ive been a zombie since the announcement of our second lockdown ughh hahaha sad but true lol
it all looks ok, the only thing thats a bit weird is the hops... all the boil hops are 60min ads.. so no real flavour from them, relying on just the dry hop. Maybe thats right the coopers recipe? I don't know, but its weird as an XPA recipe. Cheers!

I just had a look at the official cooper extract version and they use 25g Simcoe and 12.5g Lemon Drop and they do a 15min boil with it. So for an All Grain, I'd probably replicate that.
I just changed the hops around a bit a few little tweaks I moved the boil hops to 10mins so it can have a 5min steep at the end to clear etc, I havent brewed it of course but its closer to Coopers Extract Version. Cheers!

well have brewed this beer of the coopers XPA using Gashes recipe

I a not 100% right that the magnum in the recipe does it good, however i still dont mind it to be honest and the beer is still a bit green as it was only kegged last wednesday..

i can taste the goodness of the gladfield ale and jw crystal

came out rather dark to be honest so i dont think it has met the colour profile

Its rather cloudy as well , mind you i got a bit distracted becuase my mother skyped me and if i dont answer all hell breaks loose, but i love me mother
missed putting the whirfloc in

I have can of coopers XPA and i will put my xpa version next to it just to compare the colour

overall i think i stuffed up a bit as i feel my grain crush was way to fine
incausing a burnt taste through the mash and i feel the mash time was a bit to much for the recipe , i could be wrong there and made mistake during the mash in..

anyway its beer and i find it drinkable and will enjoy enjoy it..

Can i ask Gash what was your houghts at the time and i know you havent brewed it as to why you want to add magnum hop?

Also I think people use the magnum or something like warrior as it is a clean bittering hop so lets your flavour and aroma hops shine more where as something like chinook for bittering will give you a bit of pine I think.

theres alot of difference to the taste , i think maybe if upped the ampe on lemondrop and simcoe at start of boil and left magnum hops out
becuase i can taste the lemon drop and simco but i feel the magum as took right over

i lso feel mine is a great colour as well i feel the tweak is wiith in the hop area

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
