yep. It says it does not recogmise it. Other recipes that have come from beersmith cload work fine but the type of file is beersmith2 not .bsmx. Maybe you could put it on the beermith cloud?
Not a big issue just wondering whats going on

So I brewed this recipe. To be honest it did not last very long after carbonation.:cheer:
Got 600gms of flaked oats left so will be doing it again in the near future.
Thanks for the recipe Gash...

As noted in my post above, I enjoyed the extract version and fancied doing an all grain.
Watched Brad Smith's podcast with Randy Mosher on NEIPA's. Randy was talking about using up to 50% adjuncts, using pils, vienna, carapils and light caramel malt and aiming for an EBC of <7. Many hop varieties were mentioned, but a tiny amount of bittering hops (10g) with dry hopping on day 2 and 5. Based on this, me being an expert brewer, ha ha, I plan to do the following:
3.7kg Pale Malt (got heaps of it and cant be bothered buying Pils)
1.15kg Flaked Oats (750g packet plus what I have leftover, technical decision)
0.7kg Carapils (leftover from Pilsner brew)
0.4kg Vienna (leftover from Pilsner brew)
10g Citra 60min
20g each Citra, Galaxy, Mosaic end of boil
10g each of Citra, Galaxy, Mosaic dry hop after 2 days
20g each of Citra, Galaxy, Mosaic dry hop after 5 days
Hits most of the targets Randy mentioned apart from the EBC.
The fun part of homebrewing is trying different things. Any thoughts.
cheers
Chris

Yes that recipie does look good. I brewed a NEIPA with johno up north. The results were quite good except the finish was very dry and a little too bitter. I didnt use cryatal malts and i couldnt understand how people were nt using crystal but still got a juicy finish without being dry. With Gashes coopers NEIPA remember the kit would have had some crystal and he also added I think from memory 100g of crystal. When i brewed mine I did add a teaspoon of gypsum (calcium sulphate) and the sulphate imparts a dry and enharnced bitterness further enharnced by not adding crystal If i was to brew it again i wouldnt use gypsum but would instead add a teaspoon of Calcium Chloride to push the finish the other way and avoid that dry bitterness and make it more juicy. Water adjustment can be a tricky thing when starting out so do a bit of research. I found this so check out the chemistry adjustment. It doesnt have to be too complicated just note the CaCl2 and compare with your water supply from your council web site.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
