Good high alpha aroma hop. The hop is spicy with subtle citrus

Opal is an aroma variety from the hop research centre in Hull

Maturity Medium early
Yield 1,850 Kg/ha

Disease/Pest Susceptibility wilt good, downy mildew good, powdery mildew good.

Alpha Acid 5.0 – 8.0%
Beta Acid 3.5 – 5.5%
Cohumulone 13 - 17% of alpha acids
Storageability Average
Total Oil 0.8 – 1.3%
Myrcene 20 - 45%
Humulene 30 - 50% of whole oil
Beta Carophyllene 8 - 15%
Farnesene <1% of whole oil

Aroma Specification
On a scale of 1 to 10 : flowery 0, citrus 1, fruity 1, current like 0, sweet 2, spicy 7.
Overall impression of character on a scale to 1 of 5: intensive 3, pungent 1, lasting full 4.

Just finished a good brew day, brewing an English Bitter or maybe it s a pale. Did a starter seemed to go well. But my picnic tap on my keg snapped so had to use a pair of plyers to pour. Nice n foamy :D

Think you'll find the others will be like the grainfather app if they are set up correctly.

Hi everyone, just wondering why the likes of BS, Brewfather ect specify a lower strike water volume than the sparge volume? The only one that does not is the Grainfather app.
