There is no water analysis in that document from what I could see. If you contact your local council and ask them for a copy they should give it to you.

Yeah so you'll probably want another couple of entries like sulfate and the chloride figures don't make a lot of sense to me. Im sure Gash can shine a light on it. But yes go to beer smith and have a look at what needs to be filled in for the water profile of the beer you want to make. They will ask you to enter your recipe (grains etc) With the water profile if you are missing some info then give them a call, the number is 9218 5400. and basically fill in the boxes. Remember once you have all the info youve pretty much always got it for future use. Dont get too hung up on it and well done for being interested in the chemistry in brewing your beer. It seems complex to start with but as long as you dont try and learn it all in one hit youll find it will fall into place. Cheers mate.

Thanks once again finnroo

i am just keen to get a reasonable tasting beer...

some say if ya not fussed with water out of the tap then just use that then others say certain styles require the water to be changed.

but i am interested in getting better product

after all i am just restarting back up after a ten year break and before that was just happy to use Adelaide tap water..

but now i think its time to have alook at it and i am not going to be to hung up with it.. as ya cant learn everything over night

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
