No Chill transfer to cube options was created by Deejay
Hi guys,
does it make any difference if I transfer into the cube using the recirculation arm versus the tap at the bottom of the kettle?
Any advantages or disadvantages as one drains from the side and the other from the bottom?
Will I get more gunk in the cube one way or the other?
I am using the Brewzilla 65L
cheers

Hey Deejay, I dont use a system like yours but Ill jump in anyway and say I don't think it would really matter at the end of the day. If your putting it into the cube hot then cold break wont really have happened, but even so the bottom valve will be off the bottom a bit for settled out hops to remain in your kettle. I have heard before of a blocked pump when transferring with that so nothing like gravity to do the job. Good luck and ill be interested to know what you did and how it went. Cheers mate.

Yeah it doesn't really matter, The pump inlet is just a few inches from the tap outlet.
I use the pump just because the unit is usually on the ground so I can't fit the cube under it, and since I never use the tap for anything there's often a spider or something in there hahaha Sorry mate had a few days off answering questions!

Thanks for your input and good point about the pump getting blocked, probably a slim chance but could happen.
I have my kettle raised up so can fit the cube and fermenter under so think I will stick with that, gravity is good.
I did a double batch pale ale 2 weeks ago and cubed it through the tap then later on was watching a video of Gash and he cubed it using the pump which got me thinking is there a reason, hence the question.
cheers.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
