I suppose it really depends on the condition of your tap water. Our water here in Christchurch is pure through natural aquifers . We did have some chlorine for a few years post earth quakes but Ive been told that's no longer the case and i cant smell it so that maybe true( i must check that).
A camp-ton tablet should be all you need for Chlorine and Chloramine .
I also pre- boil all my brew water.(don't have any reason for doing so, i just do)
If you have a good drinking water supply I would nt think a filter is necessary, just another piece of equipment to pay for and clean lol.
Cheers mate.

I use the kegland one but there are cheaper ones around, I think the Kegland one is a bit dearer because its made in Australia where the cheaper ones are made in china??
I'd use mine every brew if possible, but yeah its a bit slow, and a lot of waste water , but that can be used for other things, washing, watering the garden etc, I chuck mine in the washing machine and on the garden.
Bunnings and places like that probably have them, plumbing supplies?
You can get pumps to speed them up but that's more cost.
I use them when I've planned it and have the time, or if its a euro lager or pils for sure.
Cheers!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
