Quick Oats was created by Cherry1

I use Beersmith 2 for my recipes. I am usually within plus or minus 2 points with my numbers using Gash's profile for the Robobrew.
The only time I seem to be way out is when using quick oats. Seem to run about 6 to 7 points down.
For the recipes I select Oats Flaked (2.0 EBC) from the Beersmith list.
Always add rice hulls when using them and get a good flow when mashing and sparging.
Any thoughts?

you're not adding wheat at the same time? Wheat is always my issue

Nothing extreme, last one 1.062 OG aim. 5kg pale, 0.5kg munich and 0.7kg oats.
No wheat in sight...
Came in at 1.056

hmmm wonder what it is, guess you've tried a longer mash? maybe checked that conversion was complete? odd stir? Maybe just drop the BH eff% a bit when you use oats.

Always thought about checking conversion but never got around to it, probably a good practice to start. Stirring may help, tend to not do it if I am getting a good re-circulation. See how the next one goes.

i think its worth a try, just to rule the easy things out. if that doesnt work then we can look a bit deeper
